The National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) has served notice all schools with rickety buses and those overloading pupils without any adult supervisor will face administrative penalties and sanctions after February.
Therefore, all schools have been given up to Monday, February 28 to provide “relevant information on the details of their drivers and vehicles”.
Senior High Schools to reopen Feb. 7
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has fixed the reopening of senior high schools (SHSs) for Monday, February 7, 2022.
All other basic schools – from kindergarten to junior high school – will reopen earlier, on Tuesday, January 18.

UTAG, gov’t reps locked up in crunch meeting
A crack team of government officials including the Minister of Employment and Labour Relations is meeting the National Labour Commission (NLC) over the strike action by the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG).
Leadership of UTAG is also in the crunch meeting, which is at the behest of the NLC.
Rajevac unsure of Kudus’ readiness
Black Stars Head Coach Milovan Rajevac says midfielder Mohammed Kudus is still recovering from his injury and unsure if he will be ready to join the team in Cameroon.
The Serbian, however, says that they are expecting that “he will be with the team soon”.
He was speaking at a press conference ahead of his side’s second Group C game with Gabon on Friday.
Accusations & counter-accusations over Bawumia
A group calling itself Concerned NPP Supporters in the Central Region is calling for stiff sanctions against Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for breaching the New Patriotic Party’s regulations on campaigning for the flagbearship elections.

However, another group, I am For Bawumia Movement, insists the groups are being fuelled “by tiny elements within the NPP, and their collaborators in the opposition NDC to attack the person of the quintessential Vice President of Our Republic, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia”.
