All of President Buhari’s appointments and initiatives, he has stated, are based on equity and inclusion.
The President stated this during an All Progressives Congress (APC) youth convention in Abuja today, June 21.
The president, who was represented at the occasion by the Sectary to the Government of the Federation SGF, Boss Mustapha, stated that no part of the country has not benefited from infrastructure, agriculture, and economic support initiatives based on regional differences.
The President promised to bring those who are jeopardizing Nigeria’s peace to justice.
“So far, all the policies, initiatives, projects and even appointments by this administration have been guided by equity and inclusiveness.
As you are all aware, we are currently dealing with some internal security challenges and I would like to reassure you that as the commander-in-chief of the armed forces, no effort will be spared in tackling them,”
As I have repeatedly said in recent weeks, every criminal element that has taken up arms against the peace of the country and its citizens will be brought to book accordingly”he said
Meanwhile, President Buhari has granted talks to address agitations in the country’s south-east, according to Minister of Labour Chris Ngige.
On Sunday, June 20, Ngige said certain things would be done at the very least to alleviate the concerns of people from the south-east and make them feel less undesired.
“We also looked at the security situation, especially in my zone, the south-east, and we made some proposals to him based on the yearnings on the people, and what the government also wants.
“We are following up with dialogue, which at the end of the day, is what will happen. We have to talk; we have to discuss. Part of the discussion starts tomorrow. The minister of defence, minister of interior, and service chiefs were in Enugu last Saturday and we’re going to do follow-up meetings on that.
“We briefed him and he accepted that dialogue is the way to go in all this. Like I keep on saying, there is a very thin line between perception and reality. So, certain things will be done, at least to assuage the feelings of the people in the area, and make them not feel unwanted.”
