Karim Adeyemi is one of the best young players in the world. He could very well be the next Erling Haaland-type superstar to come from RB Salzburg. Adeyemi has been linked to Real Madrid, who even reportedly met with the player’s camp.
But Adeyemi appears to be close to a decision. One that does not involve Los Blancos.
According to a report from Max Bielefeld of Sky Sport Germany, Karim Adeyemi has a 90 to 95 percent chance of signing with Borussia Dortmund. He would like to develop in the Bundesliga, which has helped many talents become superstars.
Leroy Sane (Schalke to Manchester City), Kevin de Bruyne (Wolfsburg to Manchester City), Jadon Sancho (Dortmund to Manchester United), and, most recently, Erling Haaland are examples of players at Bundesliga clubs (besides Bayern) who have done just that. Kai Havertz has also enjoyed success at Chelsea after being a top prospect for Bayer Leverkusen. Florian Wirtz may follow in his footsteps. And Madridistas won’t forget Mesut Ozil, who joined from Werder Bremen many years ago.
Sport Bild is also reporting a deal between Dortmund and Adeyemi may be close. Where there is smoke, there is fire. And with Haaland set to leave in the summer, perhaps to Real Madrid, Adeyemi makes even more sense as the Norwegian’s replacement.
Karim Adeyemi could interest Real Madrid in the future
Madridistas should be rooting for Adeyemi to join the Black and Yellows. Yes, even over Los Blancos. Logically, Adeyemi would not sign with Real, despite the interest. He wants to play every match and develop. Adeyemi is smart. He knows he needs the right situation to become a megastar. If he were to join Real, there would be no place for him, and he’d have to take an immediate loan. As Reinier can attest, those do not often work out well.
Adeyemi is one for the future. While Madridistas are hopeful of a summer double-swoop for Kylian Mbappe and Haaland, if that does not happen, a position up top could open in a few years after Karim Benzema likely returns to Lyon to end his career. And when that does happen, Adeyemi, currently 19 years old, would be ready. Or, at least, Los Blancos would know if he can fill the job. Right now, a transfer does not make sense for either the player or the club, given the magnitude of expectations at the Santiago Bernabeu.
But Dortmund is perfect for Adeyemi. It is also ideal for Los Merengues. If you want a top young player to sign anywhere as a club that could be interested in that player in the future, then Dortmund is the place you want them to go to. Dortmund do not give bargains, unless you are smart enough to insert a favorable release clause as Haaland did, but they do sell. Other clubs interested in Adeyemi like Barcelona, whom he reportedly rejected based on the report above from Sky, would not sell to Madrid.

Adeyemi to Dortmund is not a done deal. It seems like there are still financial details that need to be ironed out between Salzburg and Dortmund before this major transfer can be completed. However, it makes so much sense that fans can pencil in Adeyemi as a future Dortmund player. His development will be of great interest to Madridistas, who can be thrilled with the opportunity to watch him at the Signal Iduna Park, knowing it is a potentially fruitful situation for Los Blancos in a few years. Of course, if they even need a goal-scorer at that time.
