It’s Hypocrisy – Ortom Slams Buhari Over N6.5bn Approved For Katsina Ranching

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has lashed out at President Muhammadu Buhari for confirming N6.25 billion for ranching in Katsina State.

According to Ortom, Buhari’s acceptance of N6.25 billion for ranching in Katsina State while supporting open grazing and cattle movements elsewhere in the country is hypocritical.

Ortom said: “So Mr. President approved N6.5 billion for ranching in Katsina State. What kind of hypocrisy is this? Are we a serious country at all?

“And the same President is encouraging ranching in Katsina State where he comes from, that is certainly laughable and very hypocritical and deceitful.

“We need an explanation because it is a shame. So if the President has approved N6.5 billion for Katsina State, they should also approve N100 billion for Benue State with an apology to me.”

Meanwhile, Governor Samuel Ortom recently reiterated that the President is responsible for the insecurity in the country.

Governor Ortom made this disclosure during a chat with journalists where he stated that if the President is ready to stand against insecurity, it will surely be no more. He also went further to attribute part of the blame to Buhari’s advisers for causing his problems.

In his words

”Right now, there is nothing in this country under this APC that we can say that they are getting it right. Is it security? How can Northern governors, Southern governors, National Economic Council, come out with a policy that will stop the killings that are going on in this country and the presidency will say that no, it will not accept that it must be open grazing?
