According to MadridistaReal, Luka Jovic is set to stay at Real Madrid due to a lack of transfer offers. Carlo Ancelotti has expressed confidence in him this season. The Serbian returned to the Spanish capital filled with enthusiasm to impress Ancelotti his new boss following Zinedine Zidane’s resignation.
Under the former incumbent, the 23-year-old struggled to break through and was eventually loaned out in January to Eintracht Frankfurt after Zidane left him in the cold. The past is now out of the way for Jovic, who believes in his abilities and has already impressed Ancelotti so far.
The Italian manager is banking on the former Frankfurt striker to get amongst the goals consistently and plans on offering him a more important role to revive his form and career. Lucas Navarrete has also reported that an insider from Real Madrid has stated the club is impressed with Jovic and he only needs to score a few times to get back to what he does best.
Meanwhile, AS’s Tomas Roncero reports that Jovic is given a new lifeline under Carlo who wants to unleash his true potential. There are just heaps and heaps of praise from every source in regard to Luka Jovic and his future at Real Madrid. But what exactly can we fans expect from the Serbian this season?
Luka Jovic could score 10 goals for Real Madrid if he gets more games
There’s no way that Luka Jovic is going to displace Karim Benzema from the starting eleven. But the Frenchman is now 33-years-old and taking rest is going to be a key factor for Benzema to perform in the demanding fixtures and for the remaining years of his contract.
Jovic believes that chances will come his way and one can be confident that we’ll get to see more from the Serbian this season than we ever did in Zizou’s second stint.
Statistically, my prediction would be that Luka Jovic could contribute to 10 goals in all competitions. As a backup striker, that is a great number of goal contributions that would certainly go a long way in the season.
While getting on the scoresheet would be something Jovic would look forward to, his playmaking skills should not be looked down upon or go unnoticed. We can expect five assists in all competitions coupled with 10 goals. In total a 15 G/A season from the 23-year-old.
This assumption/prediction is on the basis that he gets sufficient playing time and does not suffer from a serious injury or other such circumstances that could keep him out of action for a long period.
