Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side could enter the transfer market to bring reinforcements in as one star player continues to be linked with a move abroad in January
Pep Guardiola may well turn to the January transfer window to strengthen his side ahead of the Premier League run-in.
The Manchester City boss has dealt with the disappointment of not securing the Carabao Cup for the first time since 2017 in what the Spaniard may well see as a backward step this season.
And Guardiola will be keen to ensure his side does not suffer the same fate in their other cup competitions when they return to knockout football next year.
It has led to the club being linked with some leading names from the world of football, with the latest reports saying they hold an interest in a PSG midfielder and a fullback currently on the books at Ajax who has also reportedly been the subject of interest from Arsenal, Leed United and Brighton.
It means Guardiola could be in for a busy January transfer window if he is to strengthen his side, as one star player continues to be linked with leaving.
Here are all the latest Man City transfer rumours.

City set Sterling condition
Raheem Sterling will reportedly be allowed to leave City in January – on one condition.
Sterling has found regular first-team football difficult to come by this season and new Barcelona manager Xavi is said to be keen on taking advantage of his current situation at the Etihad.
But Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo are reporting that City will be willing to let the former Liverpool attacker leave but only if they sign a replacement first.
It means another fresh face will be needed to be brought in before the club enter negotiations with the Catalan side, although it is yet to be seen who Pep Guardiola’s side could target.
City ‘to make offer’ for PSG ace
Paris Saint Germain midfielder Xavi Simons looks set to leave the club next summer with his contract due to expire.
Simons came through the famed La Masia academy at Barcelona and had been widely expected to return to his former club.
But City are ‘willing to make him an offer’ since Pep Guardiola is in ‘love with the way he plays, according to Fichajes.
The report states that rather than sign the player in January, however, City would wait for Simons’ contract to expire at the end of the season.
It means Guardiola will have to go up against his former club in order to land the 18-year-old’s signature.

City have entered the race for Ajax star Noussair Mazraoui, it has been reported.
Eurosport‘s transfer notebook claims that the club are prepared to go up against Premier League rivals Arsenal, Leeds United and Brighton in order to land the player’s signature.
The report states ‘Mazraoui’s contract situation at Ajax is causing increasing hope among English recruitment staff that he could become available’
There is expected to be plenty of interest in the player, however, with Eurosport claiming the 24-year-old ‘may be one of the steals of next summer’.
