Ronaldo loses record

Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has seen his Serie A goalscoring record equalled – by a striker who has been linked with a move to Old Trafford.

Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic netted his 33rd goal of 2021 in Fiorentina’s 2-2 draw against Sassuolo on Sunday to match the record set by Ronaldo last year.

Ronaldo left Italy when he moved to United last summer, and Vlahovic has been linked with making a similar transfer himself in recent times.

It comes as Ronaldo’s big rival Lionel Messi also saw one of his records tumble this weekend as Dusan Tadic broke the world record for total assists in a calendar year.

But United will only sign a centre-midfielder when the January transfer window opens next month on one condition, according to the Manchester Evening News
