Mason Greenwood was reportedly offered a life-changing amount of money to leave Manchester United in 2019.

Juventus were keen on snapping up the Red Devils youngster, according to The Athletic’s Talk of the Devils podcast, and were ready to make a serious bid for the forward.

But Manchester United were able to convince Greenwood that Old Trafford was the best place for him to continue his development and put a four-year contract in front of him.

Greenwood pledged his future to the Old Trafford club, and at the time said: “Having grown up as a Manchester United fan, playing for the first team is a real dream come true.

“I know that, when I play for this club, I represent the whole academy and I want to repay the faith that my coaches have shown in me with my performances on the pitch.

“I am learning all the time from the manager and his coaching staff and I know that this is the perfect club to help me reach my potential.”

Nearly three years on and Greenwood is a part of the United first-team set-up.

But the youngster isn’t getting as much football as he would have liked and, according to El Nacional, is upset by the fact Ronaldo is always the first name on Ralf Rangnick’s Manchester United teamsheet.

The report also adds that Greenwood is unhappy with the way Ronaldo has assumed control of the Red Devils dressing room in such a short space of time.

It’s claimed Greenwood is now looking into the possibility of leaving Old Trafford as he is well aware of the serious attention he would attract from suitors.

Juventus previously made this clear when they were prepared to offer him big money to leave United just three years ago.

But now Barcelona and even Arsenal are said to be in the mix, ready to offer the England international a way out at Man United.

Losing Greenwood would be a huge blow for Manchester United, given his age compared to Ronaldo’s.

And Rangnick must find a way to incorporate the youngster from now until the end of the season to ensure he remains a United player indefinitely.
