Josephine Panyin Mensah, the Takoradi woman who reportedly faked her kidnapping and pregnancy was arraigned before court today.
The woman who trended the whole of last week over a kidnapping case which later turned out to be false made her first appearance before a Takoradi circuit court presided over by Michael Cudjoe Ampadu after confessing last Friday.

On Friday, September 24, new information came up from the police headquarters that Josephine had confessed to faking both her pregnancy and kidnapping.
She was arrested and detained in police cells and sued by the Police for her actions.

Earlier today, Josephine arrived at the court house with five lawyers, working pro bono, and pleaded not guilty to the court on charges of putting fear and panic in the public and deceiving public officials.
Briefing the court, Superintendent Emmanuel Basintale, said police investigations suggest that the mobile number used by the supposed kidnappers were registered in the name of the accused, Josephine Panyin Mensah Simons.
The Western Regional head of prosecutions and legal affairs at the regional police command who led the prosecutions also told the court that the prosthetics she wore to pretend that she was pregnant were bought at Takoradi Market Circle at the cost of GHC30.
Josephine was granted a bail of Ghc50,000 with two sureties.
