The sad news was confirmed on Twitter by the Royal house earlier.

Prince Philip had traveled to numerous countries during his time on Earth especially in the commonwealth countries in Africa, he managed to visit 143 countries in the world. He visited some of these countries not once but numerous times.

Prince Philip was in Ghana as well and he came here for a purpose where he was here for about three times in his prime times.

In 1961, Prince Philip was in Ghana after Kwame Nkrumah and the Big Six attained Independence for Ghana from the Britain.

He had to escort Queen Elizabeth II in her visit to Ghana since he was the husband of the Queen. They spent 11 days in the country where there was a gathering which Dr. Kwame Nkrumah danced with Queen Elizabeth and Fatia was also seen dancing with Prince Philip. The two were here in Ghana from 9th to 20th of September 1961.

Prince Joseph was in Ghana once again in 1999 during the reigning of the late president Jerry John Rawlins.

He was to escort his wife to the formally known British colony.

He was seen alongside with with J.J Rawlings and his wife with the escort of his wife.

Prince Philip was in Ghana for the third and last time in 2008 and this time, without his wife.

He spent three days in Ghana where he was on a tour in some interesting places in the country during the 30th triennial conference of the commonwealth Ex-services league. He was seen with some prominent people in the country which marked the last time he was seen in Ghana.

The Government of Ghana is yet to send highly respected condolences to the royal family of England.
